Firearms are available for rental for the prices listed below. All ammunition used must be obtained from Midstate Gun Company. Range members will get 1 1/2 hours.
Corporate Range Membership (CRM) allows a Local business to purchase a group member package for their employees and/or staff. These Memberships are limited in number and differ from our regular yearly memberships.
Q: Do you do transfers?
A: Yes, for $25 - person to person, or from online sales
Q: What can be fired on the range?
A: Handguns, shotguns, and rifles up to .30-06 (see Rules and Safety, item 4 for more details).
Q: Do you buy used guns?
A: Yes, we buy and consign used guns.
Q: Do you rent guns?
A: Yes, we have a growing selection of handguns, rifles, and shotguns for rent.
Q: Do you have certified instructors?
A: Yes, we have RSOs, handgun, rifle, and shotgun qualified instructors.
Q: Can I bring my family?
A: Certainly! We have several husband/wife teams and over 20% of our members are ladies.
Q: Can I bring my own gun?
A: Of Course!
Q: Can I clean my gun at the range/store after shooting?
A: No. Sorry, but we don't have the facility for it.
Q: Do you do gunsmithing?
A: No, but we will be happy put you in contact with a gunsmith.
Q: Will you be offering courses?
A: Yes, a full line of instructional courses will be announced soon. (See 'Classes, Courses, and Certification' above for more information).
Q: Do you rent eye and/or ear protection?
A: No; for sanitation reasons. We do, however, sell protective eyewear for $2.59 and disposable earplugs for 50¢.
Q: Do I need a blue card to shoot?
A: No, only to purchase handguns.
Q: Do you give the blue card test?
A: Yes, and it's free!
Monday morning of each week a new target will be announced. There will be no makeups for missed or absent weeks. Scored targets may be shot any day until closing on Sundays.
Practicing for your targets IS allowed. Purchase and practice with the weekly targets as much as you like.
When you are ready to shoot for scoring, your targets may be picked up at check in desk. Targets will be marked as “official targets”. Only official targets will count for scoring.
When on the range, prior to shooting “scored” targets, shooter must inform the on duty RSO that they are shooting for their weekly score. RSO’s will ensure proper distances and rules are observed.
When shooting is completed, bring targets to RSO for signatures that targets were shot following rules. Make sure as the shooter, you put your name (legibly) on ALL targets. This is the shooters responsibility. Return shot targets to the check in/sales staff in front of store to ensure your scores get processed. Non legible, no name, or unsigned targets will be disqualified.
Each week a target example will be posted in the range with the explanation of that weeks rules. RSO’s will be able to answer questions.
Shooters using Optics or Laser sights will shoot at a 3 yard penalty. Example: If set target distance is 7 yards for that week, handicap will be shot at 10 yards.
Non Member shooters will be given 20 minutes to shoot their weekly targets. If practice time is wanted, the standard range fees will apply with the shooter getting an extra 20 minutes added to their hour when shooting “scored” targets.
Rental guns may be used, Free of charge for 20 minutes while shooting “scored” targets. Guns must be returned or rental fee paid for additional usage.
Classification – shooters will be put into 3 classes. A, B or C. top third of shooters in weeks 1 and 2 will be classed as A. middle third in B, bottom third in Class C. Known ability may be used to classify shooters not based on score.
Shooters may win weekly prizes no more than 2 times. Shooter will advance class when possible for each win. Top Points will be earned even if not eligible for weekly prize. Shooter is still eligible for end of season prizes/awards.
There will be one overall winner per week and 1 winner per class per week. Tie breakers will be announced with weekly targets.
Scoring: Weekly overall winner will earn 10 points for the week. Class winners will earn 8 points. Top 10% of scores following winners will earn 7 points. Next 20% will earn 6 points. Next 20% will earn 5 points. 3 points earned for weekly participants regardless of score.
All rules are subject to change at Midstate Gun Companies discretion. All scoring is final and at the discretion of Midstate Gun Company.
End of Season tie breakers will be shot off head to head at a date to be announced if necessary.
Employees and immediate family of Midstate Gun Company are allowed to shoot for “bragging rights” only and are NOT eligible for prizes. These shooters will not count towards the 150 shooter maximum.
Shooting happens first Tuesday of every month starting at 6:30 until 8:30
Military Surplus Firearms and Modern Military Type Firearms only
(Examples: AR-15, AK-47, M1A1, SKS, AR-10, M1 carbine or others.)
Fire 40 shots in 45 seconds from a standing position on a scored paper target. Then shoot 10 shots from a bench rest at a simulated 300 meter target in 30 seconds or under. Scoring will be combined between the two targets.
$20 to shoot 1 time. $30 to shoot course 2 times or $40 to shoot 3 times. Targets included.
$5 per entry is going to a Cash prize pool.
2-12 shooters = 1 payout
13-24 shooters = 2 payouts 70%/30%
25-36 shooters = 3 payouts 60%/30%/10%
37+ shooters = 4 payouts 50%/30%/20%/10%
Pre registration recommended but not required.
Iron sights or Optics (no more than 4 power)may be used. Optics shooters will give up 20 points to iron/open sight shooters.
Each hit on the rapid fire target is worth 1 point, 2 points for “center” ring. Best possible score = 80 points
Each hit on inner circle of 300 meter simulated target is worth 3 points. In the “black” outside center is 2 points. Best possible score = 30 points
Total best possible score is a 110 for open sights. (Optics penalty = 90 points).
NO SLINGS allowed for all Guns. NO slidefire allowed.
All shooters must be certified to shoot at our facility.
Any shooter showing a lack of proficiency, safety violations or lack of proper range etiquette will be asked to remove themselves from the competition.
Fire arm failures, failure to fires, gun jamming, ammunition failures etc. will count against the shooter. No re-shooting of event. It is the shooters responsibility that their gun is fully operational.
All other Midstate Range rules will apply.
Midstate Gun Company reserves the right to make changes to event rules, dates and times, and entrance fees and payout structures as they see fit.
