Range Rules

ALWAYS treat every gun as if it is loaded keeping the muzzle pointed downrange only.

ALWAYS keep the gun unloaded until you are at your bay ready to shoot.

ALWAYS keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.

Range Safety Officer (RSO) Authority

The Range Safety Officer (RSO) is responsible for overseeing all range activities and ensuring participant safety.

The RSO may immediately prohibit unsafe firearm handling and revoke membership for noncompliance.

Follow all commands issued by the RSO promptly.

Upon a ceasefire command, immediately stop firing, keep your firearm pointed downrange, and await further instructions. Failure to comply will result in immediate removal from the range.

General Firearm Safety

Always point firearms in a safe direction (downrange).

Keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.

Keep firearms unloaded until on the firing line and ready to use. Actions must remain open when away from the firing line.

Know your target and what is beyond.

Ensure your firearm is safe to operate and use only the correct ammunition.

Range Conduct

Wear approved eye and ear protection at all times on the range.

Alcohol, drugs, smoking, vaping, eating, or drinking are strictly prohibited inside the range.

Report any unsafe behavior or unexpected actions by others to the RSO.

Never step forward of the firing line. If the alarm goes off, step back and wait for instructions.

Ammunition and Equipment

Use only ammunition approved for the range. The following are prohibited:
– Steel core
– Steel jacketed
– Tracer
– Incendiary
– Birdshot
– Black powder
– Armor-piercing

and hand-loaded ammunition.

Shotguns may only be loaded with slugs.

Only commercial target ammunition is allowed.

Firearms must be transported to and from the bay unloaded and in a case. All magazine loading must occur in the bay.

Shooting Guidelines

Shoot only at authorized targets mounted on the target carrier.

Pistol targets must be placed a minimum of 7 yards and rifle targets at 15 yards. Targets must align with the backstop.

Uncontrolled firing, cross-bay shooting, and rapid fire are prohibited unless approved by the RSO.

Drawing from a holster, shooting prone or kneeling, and shooting on the move are not allowed.

Malfunction Procedures

If a firearm malfunctions:

Leave it pointed downrange in your stall and notify the RSO.

Do not bring a loaded or malfunctioning firearm off the line.

Range Access and Restrictions

No children under 13 are allowed on the range.

All minors must have a signed and notarized waiver and be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Pregnant individuals are prohibited in the shooting area due to lead exposure.

Only two individuals are allowed per lane, with one shooter and one loaded firearm at a time.

Facility-Specific Rules

Open-toe shoes, tank tops, and improper dress are not allowed on the range.

Only firearms up to .50 caliber are permitted.

Rifles and shotguns are not allowed on electronic targeting lanes.
